What's New in Electrolysis?

S.I.M.P.L.E. and

It’s Working Wonders

The American Electrology Association recently launched its new Working Wonders campaign to inform and educate the public on the newest advances in the electrology profession.  There’s lots to talk about and the logo for the new campaign is an exciting and innovative way to get our message across.

Note the light blue circle with the backward S’s which is an ancient Eastern symbol that signifies Renewal or Refresh.  The message in the middle – Electrolysis is more than  you think – will be used in marketing material to bring attention to the many advances our profession has to offer the public to permanently solve the problem of unwanted hair.

As editor of Electrology World, the professional magazine for members of the American Electrology Association, I am privileged to be at the forefront of news and advances in our profession.  A recent issue of Electrology World introduced a new technique developed by Suzanne Anderer, CPE and Owner of Illinois School of Electrology.  This technique compliments the newest epilators which incorporate micro-pulse technology.  The technique is called S.I.M.P.L.E. which is an acronym for Sequential Inverted Micro-Pulsed Led Energy.  I have used this technique and the most advanced epilator since July, 2005 and I have found the results to be amazing.  It is my personal belief that this combined approach will revolutionize the profession of electrology.   Here is an explanation of how it works.

SIMPLE:  The acronym SIMPLE gives reference to how the AC (alternating current) technique is applied throughout the entire follicle starting at the dermis.

SEQUENTIAL:  Implies a uniform series of current applications:  one immediately following under the placement of the previous pulse utilizing one-piece stainless/non- insulated probes only.

INVERTED:  Indicates current commences at the top of the dermis (no hair grows in the epidermis, hence no electrical current should be allowed to affect this surface tissue.)  This inverted technique mandates CONSTANT movement of current in a slow, methodical manner allowing for the anagen level to be met.

MICRO:  Millionth of an ampere or extremely small amounts of current.

PULSED:  Quickness of time in thousandths of a second.  (as quick as the blink of an eye)  The formula for micro flash technique is:

Current X Time = Pulses per Millimeter depth

Throughout my years of being an electrologist, I have strived to achieve the best in permanent hair removal results for my clients.  My skills have been a work in progress and I have pursued education and embraced new technology and techniques in my quest to provide my clients with the most efficacious treatment available.  The new technique and the technological advances in the new epilators have enabled me to provide my clients with the best solution to achieving permanent hair removal.  No other modality including laser hair removal, intense pulsed light, or any other option can make this claim.

If you haven’t experienced the “new” electrolysis, you’re in for a surprise.  Yes, there is a permanent solution to unwanted hair.  It’s electrolysis and it’s Working Wonders.
